Information for Presenters

Oral Presentations
The lecture theatres will be equipped as standard with a digital projector, computer with Windows XP, a red laser pointer and a flipchart.  If you require any additional equipment please contact claire.garland@iop.org in advance of the conference to see whether arrangements can be made.  Presenters intending to present from a Macintosh computer are also asked to give prior notification.

PowerPoint or similar presentations are preferred, and speakers are encouraged to use the facilities in the lecture theatre.  To assist with the smooth running of the conference speakers are asked to provide their presentations on a USB memory stick or CD and pre-load their presentation on to the computer in the theatre.  Direct connection of personal laptops set up in the break prior to the session is the preferred alternative.  The lecture theatre  will be available during refreshment and lunch breaks and presenters are encouraged to use this time to run through their presentation and ensure correct final display.

Please ensure that all fonts are embedded into your presentation and video or sound clips are included.  The arrangements for computer based presentations are robust, but speakers are reminded that it is always prudent to have a back up of their slides on transparencies.

Poster Presentations
Posters will be on display for the duration of the conference and should be A1 portrait in size.  The board dimensions are 58 inches x 58 inches and are Velcro compatible - Velcro will be supplied.

Posters can be mounted from 16:00 on Monday 10 September onwards and must be removed by 15:30 on Thursday 13 September.  The organisers will endeavour to keep all poster materials, but will not be held responsible for posters not removed at the appropriate time.
