Date: | Wednesday October 15 2008 |
Venue: | Institute of Physics, London, UK |
Organised by: | the Tribology group of the Institute of Physics |
This one day conference aims to provide information on, and promote the use of, exciting and useful experimental techniques which are now available to those studying friction, wear, and lubrication. Areas covered range from nano-scale methods of AFM friction measurement and nano-indentation, to novel remote sensing techniques, such as those using ultrasonic and electrostatic probes. Advances in the area of metrology are reviewed, and from a commercial viewpoint, the development tribo-testing equipment is described. Finally, fluorescence and thermal imaging of lubricated contacts are explored.
